BarnsExtremely flexible in their configuration, our barns can have one or two stories, mezzanine floor or cathedral space, full or partial corrugated cladding, and doors and windows to suit such as dormers, clearlight panels, and opening skylights. Our kitset barns are often used for workshops, rural buildings, garages (and barns). Because it is kitset, everything is delivered pre-cut and pre-machined, to your site, ready for immediate assembly. Quick and easy to assemble. Our designs are fully engineered and meet or exceed all New Zealand building requirements. The basics of strength and formOur timber componentry is manufactured from NZ Radiata Pine laminate-veneer-lumber (L.V.L.) treated to both New Zealand and export quality grades. L.V.L. product has been incorporated into the truss design for the construction of our Dome style profiles providing great strength with relative lightness and ease of construction. The lamination, milling and profiling of L.V.L. using C.N.C. machines has resulted in the precise production of Pinecone Timber Components. Dome building shapes using this componentry can achieve floor areas from 20-300m2. The basic system has a 6m diameter Dome truss manufactured in five sections, tek-screwed together using a unique metal sock joint. Conventional gable shapes using this system are also avaliable (see our portal-frame page). Our barns are quick to assemble, saving time and costs during construction. A range of sizes are available from a standard single level barn, perhaps a mezzanine floor, or a purpose built two story barn. These can be placed on a concrete slab or just on a concrete footing, allowing for an earthen floor, or one constructed from timber. |
